In the last match of 5th round of Max TV Prva liga Istra played against Rijeka at Rujevica. Coach Manolo Márquez sent these 11 on the pitch: Landeta; Rubić, Oneto, Rodriguez, Grujević; Segado, Cardozo; Traore, Ivančić, Regan; Mierez.
Istra started game well and came into the lead in 3rd minute. Oneto tried with his head after corner, Sluga saved it, but ball deflected to Ivančić and he played ball for Mierez on the second post and it was 0-1 for Istra.
In the very next attack Rijeka equalized – Gorgon crossed from right side, Heber controlled ball well and scored his first of the night.
Istra continued to play well – Segado’s shot after Mierez’ back pass went a bit wide.
In 17th minute Punčec was too relaxed – Mierez used this, took the ball, made a good run and scored for new Istra’ lead.
Next Istra’ chance came in 27th when Rodriguez was highest after a cross, ball has hit the bar.
Heber made great run in 30th minute, exploited available space well and scored for 2-2.
Both teams had safer approach in second half. First chance came in 64th. Rodriguez was the highest once again, but this time Raspopović cleared ball of the line. Only a minute later new chance – Segado’s shot is saved by Sluga. In 76th Raspopović finds Gorgon who’s header goes straight to Landeta.
Rijeka got their first lead on the game through Heber – he made another great run in to space, tricked Landeta and scored his 3rd goal.
But Istra didn’t simply give up. After a great one-two with Iglesias, Traore was in the box, played ball to Regan who scored on his debut for final result 3-3.
In the next round Gorica is coming to Drosina. Match is scheduled for Sunday at 18:30.
