Today, a press conference was held ahead of the match of the 14th round of the SuperSport Croatian Football League with Šibenik, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 23, starting at 3 pm. The match was announced at the conference by head coach Gonzalo Garcia and player Mounsef Bakrar.
On Sunday I expect a good match against a team that is always close to us in terms of results and games, that is, our direct competitor. The match will certainly be demanding, but I expect our game to be as it has been so far – a strong attack, a goal and 3 points at home. Erceg misses this match unfortunately because he has 3 yellow cards, but everyone else is in great shape. In the cup match, I wanted to give other players more minutes to prove themselves, that’s why there were some changes in the lineup. I am satisfied with that game, which was quite demanding, but the victory was still deserved. The first match with Šibenik in the season ended without goals; their pitch was difficult to play on and since then they have changed their coach so we will see what awaits us on sunday. Now they play a bit more offensive football and are proactive, but we are ready to finally play on our home pitch with the support of our fans, who are also looking forward to us as much as we are to them, I hope, said coach Garcia.
We prepared for this match as hard as ever. We are looking forward to the game and as the coach said, we should enjoy it and take three points at home. We have to be careful with Šibenik because they can surprise us, so I expect a though battle and more pressure from us on them in the match. We expect a fight from Šibenik, but we are ready for everything and will do our best to win points. HNL football is rougher and I’ve gotten used to it by now. I remember the match we played in Šibenik for their unfortunately bad pitch, but also for the strong, tall players who decisively go for the ball. I have the desire and motivation, and now I have to prove myself on Sunday so that I can secure my place in the starting lineup, Mounsef said at the conference.
