Istra’s coach Manolo Márquez has given his opinion at the press conference after a draw with Slaven Belupo.

“Slaven Belupo was the better team in the first half, we had to defend for the most of the time. We have all new players, a lot of young players and together we’re working on a new project and I believe we can only get better.
In football nothing’s over until ref’s last whistle, so we didn’t just give up. We played and got a goal for 1-1. The game was crazy until the end – both teams could’ve scored. We’re still on the beginning, so I think this draw is realistic.”

He also commented on players who made appearance off the bench:
“In my coaching career I’m giving a chance to players on the bench. I think that’s very important – they have to see that I believe in them. Rubić, Luis and Segado entered the game today and played well.
Of course, I’m not happy with the first half. They’ve created a lot of chances, but I kinda understand that because we’re on the start of the season. I’m statisfied with reaction of the team and with character we’ve shown after conceding a goal.”
