[:hr]Napadač Ignacio Varela najnoviji je igrač Istre 1961. Rođen u Argentini 20. srpnja 1990., Ignacio je u karijeri igrao u Argentinskim i Kolumbijskim drugoligašima, dok je u Istru 1961 stigao iz talijanskog niželigaša gdje je proveo posljednju polusezonu.

Born on July 20 1990, in his career Ignacio played in Argentinian and Colombian second league clubs. The last half of the season he played in the Italian 4th league club Derthona.
