The vision of the youth school is to become an organization that, with its qualities and conditions, continuously develops the maximum potential of its players and professional staff. The goals of the youth department are the development of young players and professional staff to prepare the players for the senior team of Istra 1961 and the Croatian national team. One of the goals is also to develop young players for participation in local semi-professional and amateur clubs. The philosophy of work in the football academy defines the focus on the potential of the individual players and the maximum development of them in the shortest possible period of time.

PRO Sector

PRO sector includes U19, U17a, U17b and U15 teams. The most important characteristic of this sector lies in the preparation of our young players for professional senior football. This implies professional selection and focus on the requirements of professional football.

The training sessions and matches of the teams of this sector are mostly held in Medulin, on the grounds of the Arena Hospitality group and on the second pitch of Aldo Drosina stadium.

Youth Sector

The youth sector includes U9, U11, U12, U13 and U14 teams. The characteristics of this sector are focused on defining and developing the potential of each child. This implies the development of functional-motoric skills, educational values, the formation of sports habits and the development of a complete person and future fan of NK Istra 1961.

The training sessions and matches of the teams of this sector are mostly held on the second pitch of Aldo Drosina stadium and sometimes on the soccer fields of the Arena Hospitality group in Medulin.

Football Beginners

On the 1st of September, the training sessions of our youngest football beginners, started during which girls and boys of preschool age, born in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, will be able to experience their first steps in football.

The trainings are held three times a week in two groups (on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and, if necessary, on Fridays from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm), under the guidance of coach Milovan Lazendić. Also, there is a newly formed group in Primary school Tone Peruška where all children are welcome to join, Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 pm until 6:15 pm.

The monthly membership fee is 200.00 KN/ €26.54, plus a one-time purchase of a complete sports set for training at a price of 500.00 KN/ €66.36. Novice football trainings last 10 months/ until the end of June.

What is NK Istra 1961 Football beginners program?

  • It is a sports-entertainment-educational program
  • It is a place to adopt healthy lifestyle habits for the child; our trainers act as educators
