Last week we visited the wonderful people from the sports association for the blind Učka in Pula, on the occasion of celebrating the International White Cane Day (October 15)! Hosted by Mr. Zlatko Kuftić, the executive director of the sports association, we toured the common rooms, got to know the present participants, and then rolled up our sleeves and tried our hand at electronic voice darts for blind(folded) people.
We played a seven-on-seven tournament, and the players were as follows: Kristijan Kopljar, Ivan Lučić, Vinko Petković, Jan Paus-Kunšt, Josip Brekalo, Lorea Compañon Larrañaga and Paula Zbodulja. The leader of the darts tournament was Zlatko Kuftić, the judge was Anica Todorović, and the logistics were Samanta Holli, Nina Kadrić and Mihael Korpar. The competitors of the darts team of the Association of the Blind were: Martina Belić, Radenko Druzetić, Terezija Gajski, Zlatko Kuftić, Milan Rojnić, Zlatko Sandrić and Saša Stanković. In the end, the result was 7:0 for the hosts, with enviable skills and fair play shown, for which we congratulated them!
At the end of our visit, Mr. Kuftić presented all the players individually with medals for first and second place, engraved with the date and name of the tournament, so that we would forever have a reminder of this wonderful sports experience.
