Today, our sports director Saša Bjelanović presented the new players of Istra 1961 at a press conference. Players Chovanie Amatkarijo and Mario Čuić attended the conference.

Chovanie Amatkarijo is a winger, a 24-year-old player of Dutch origin. There is also Mario Čuić, who you probably know better because he comes from Hajduk, a player who played last season in Radomlje. I wish them a warm welcome, said sports director Saša Bjelanović.

When I arrived in Istria, it was a bit strange for me, a new environment, nobody knows me and I didn’t know the team, but as the days are going by, I feel better here and I’m happy. It’s a great team and they’re good guys.
As far as positions are concerned, I can play on the right wing, but I still do best on the left wing. It’s my first time in Croatia in general, I’m still getting to know the league, but I’ve followed the Croatian national team so far, says Chovanie.

I am happy that I signed for Istra, it was my wish, I knew the coach and the sports director from before. We agreed quickly and I hope that we will achieve the best possible results like last season. I worked with coach Karoglan before and I think we will work out great. The team is much better than I expected, everyone accepted me very well, the guys are great and it’s a mix of younger and older, so I hope that everything will work as it should for the start of the season, says Mario Čuić.

Welcome to Drosina!
