Today, a press conference was held on the occasion of the presentation of two new players of Istria 1961, namely Vinko Petković and Dario Marešić. At the conference, they were presented by the sports director, Mr. Saša Bjelanović.
Vinko came to us on a one-year loan from Osijek with the option to buy. We were looking for a player with such a profile as Vinko, and he will definitely help us in this season on the pitch, and in the locker room as a point of reference for young players. Dario was determined and I am grateful that we were able to agree on everything quickly. He already has extensive international experience – he played with the young Austrian national team, and spent a couple of seasons in Reims, France. Dario also signed a one-year loan with an option to buy. We are very satisfied with these reinforcements, said Mr. Bjelanović at the conference.
The invitation came from Istra to come on loan and I immediately accepted it without hesitation. I thank the director for his trust and kind words, and I want to justify it on the field and help Istra achieve its goals. The team received me very well, and I already know some players from the pitch from before, said Vinko.
First of all, thanks to Saša for making this visit possible for me. It was my first invitation, and I immediately felt that he accepted it. You can see that there is a lot of quality in the team, but we definitely still have to train more, both individually and as a team. The season is long and we are going one day at a time, said Dario at the conference.
